Piolas del 2000 was formed in 1992 by 4 neighbours and friends from Mar Del Plata, Argentina, when they were in their teenage years (between 9 and 12 years old). Together with a Casio ToneBank, they wrote and recorded in 1993 their first and only record by themselves, without any adult assistance.

The lyrics in the album delve into cultural phenomenons that were relevant (and still are) at the time. As an example, “Topless” sings about female empowerment and “Barras Bravas” digs into the violence that exists in the streets of Argentina. “Primera Vez” expresses the perception they had about first sexual encounters. “Cada Mañana” or “Te extraño” are love songs. The album touches many different subjects.

After 30 years of its original recording, “Comienzo” by Piolas del 2000, gets its deserved reissue with the original songs re-mastered. The artwork and format (cassette) of this re-issue was conceived and inspired in a very DIY, limited cassette edition the band did 30 years ago.
